Britain to deploy Stormer armored missile launchers to Ukraine
Lethal Stormer armored missile launchers reportedly ready for deployment in Ukraine by Britain
It has been revealed that the British government will supply Ukrainian President Zelenskyy with the deadliest weaponry to date. A deployment of Stormer HVM (High-Velocity Missile) armored missile launchers would be being prepared, as well as 120 personnel carriers, according to thesun.co.uk.
‘It’s no secret that the UK is committed to helping Ukraine with its anti-aircraft capabilities,’ a source reportedly said The sun. “Defence Secretary Ben Wallace will make a statement to Parliament this week,” they added.
According to the source, Ukrainian officials witnessed the weapons in action at a Defense Ministry display two weeks ago on Salisbury Plain.
Piloted by a three-man crew of driver, gunner, and commander, the Stormer can deliver its deadly payload of 17 Starstreak missiles onto the enemy, then travel at speeds of up to 80 km/h to escape quickly.
“The Stormer/Starstreak combination will give a huge boost to Ukraine’s combat capability,” commented the former commander of British troops in Afghanistan, Colonel Richard Kemp. “It is an extremely efficient and highly mobile combat vehicle that will cause serious damage to any attempted low-level attack by Putin’s air force,” he added.
There is no doubt that this action will further infuriate Vladimir Putin. As Col Kemp pointed out, “This news will irritate Moscow, which is already threatening retaliation against the West – especially Britain – for supplying arms.”
“Unless Putin wants to start a war with NATO, he cannot attack arms supplies before they enter Ukraine,” he continued. “However, it could carry out cyberattacks, sabotage, assassination or other covert attacks for which its intelligence services have proven their ability, including in the UK.”
“These vehicles are the best kit ever sent to Ukraine and will make Russian pilots shudder,” said Dr Alan Mendoza of the Henry Jackson Society safety think tank.
